BUZZzzz......

A big single “No” in midst of all the “yes” and “welldone” is what I was greeted with when I saw the feedback on the board asking if they had fun during the buzz. Oh by the by "buzz" was the name of the picnic we had been to last Saturday..ya buzz cool name ha, but secretly I taught It was very mild I wanted the name to signify something much wild and strong. Well we had limited options cause the naming part was so tough !!!! now I know why there are hundreds of book on market suggesting all kind of names for all those kids and why the englis have names that are prefixed by I or II or III and so on.. but one thing that I got right is that getting the name right was a problem to another set of solutions. first to face the axe was our mascot ,until then the dolphins who had to give way to the bees… I mean u cannot have a dolphin which buzzes. And AK who was our coordinating chief had to attend a training and suddenly there was just too much work to be done in too little time and by very few people..ha then came the bomber there were two buildings to be decorated with color papers and some glittering papers too and with paper cutouts of bees which I think was a brilliant idea by daffy, but which cost the compant two colour cartridges(finally some money spent..great work ) and two days of hard cutting and pasting work,It had its effect, one of my colleague even went to the extent of saying that it looked like Chiefs birthday. I don’t know whether he wished it was his bday but definitely I think he would have wanted a wish cause that day one more goof up was made(even though goof up is a word strongly associated with our company, this was unexpected).One MANAGER thought that there was no necessity of booking the resort for the picnic and the resort guys gave it to some other company and this was when we had Three days to go and all the posters had the name of the resort...the next day chief1 and chief 2 went on a whirlwind tour and booked a resort. well now there was 2 days left. and in between all this we had a strange situation our volunteer strength went from a high of 12 to a low of 4 but the show went on… mostly cause of the fivepeople I must say daffy, Km, KP, GP and chief.. one night even KM,KP and GP had to stay till 10:30 to decorate their building...and then the d day…I don’t want to tell what happened on the d day cause I may be partial and see only the good things that happened on that day, but after coming back dead tired Km had the strength and the josh to put up the chart paper on the board, simply so that they could write their views on the buzz… after all this a NO did left me wondering what more we could have done? And at that time our Boss asked me who had written that “No”,he then asked the security and found out his name and asked me to catch hold of him and ask what his problem was ? and also asked me to make sure he was in the organizing committee next time round….ha that made up my day….appreciation coming from the big guys and the recognition of the work by the organization committee….now I was convinced that the buzz had definitely made a ROAR …. :)
